Winter
Date Ideas
The winter can be a lot of fun, but finding
good winter date ideas can sometimes lead to tragedy – like
the end of a decent relationship because you are a guy and you thought
it would be funny to shove snow down your partner's bra and make
a joke about padding.
Fun winter date ideas aren't just limited to
building a snowman, though, so get ready to have some fun in the
cold (Even if you think you hated winter!).
Ice Skating
While ice skating is good year around in an
indoor rink, see if you can find a local skating rink that's outdoors.
You normally have to spend very little, as you can rent the skates
you need – and if you get thirsty, they often have cheap or
free hot chocolate and tea.
Chase each other around the ice, or teach them
to skate if they've never been on the ice (or maybe vice versa!).
Even if neither of you know how to ice skate, it can be a lot of
fun.
Afterwards, treat them for being a good sport
by taking them to their favorite restaurant and buying them a warm
meal. After all, it has to be pretty cold out, and they put up with
you all day as well!
Sled Riding
This is something that you probably haven't
done since your childhood, but it's a great favorite on a snowy
day. Grab a sled from your local all purpose store (Think Wal*Mart
or K-Mart), and find the biggest hill you can that doesn't end with
a road, or iron fence (don't do it on a golf course like I did either...
the bunkers are hard to see in the snow...)
Remember to not only go down by yourself, but
to have them on your lap as you go down, too. Rolling in the snow,
and fights with snow balls, are also fair game – whatever
you two enjoy!
Afterwards, eat a warm meal, or at least drink
some hot chocolate and spend time talking and laughing.
Theatre
See if you can snag tickets for a show in a
local theatre near you. Community theatre can actually be extremely
impressive, depending on where you are. Do you remember Ed O'Niell,
of "Married with Children" fame? He started in a fairly
small community theatre in Ohio, of all places!
Afterwards, take them to a nice, quiet dinner,
and keep them warm all throughout the night. It's something that
you might not do in the summer, which makes this one of the best
winter date ideas around.
Overall…
Remember to have fun, and whether you stay
inside or out, do something that you both will enjoy. Winter date
ideas don't have to be exciting, or thrilling, and you don't have
to have a lot of money, or do something outdoors, to have fun in
winter.
